Deep tissue massage is often used to affect deeper muscles and their surrounding myofascial tissue. The surface muscles are warmed up first, and the therapist will continue to work deeper and deeper, staying in touch with you to make sure you’re not in too much pain. Pain will cause the muscles to tense up, and the desired effect won’t be achieved.

This massage is performed with the application of smooth basalt lava stones that have been heated to just the right temperature needed to melt your tension away. Stones are placed in areas that generally hold tension such as the back, and then oiled stones are used in flowing strokes to relax the body.

This holistic therapy uses thumb and finger pressure of varying degrees, focusing on areas of the feet that correspond with all body parts. The pressure applied during reflexology stimulates the movement of energy along the pathways. Lying prone while steaming allows the heart to work most efficiently by keeping the blood flowing evenly throughout the body. The combination of massage and steam is simply unbeatable – muscle soreness and tension just melt away.

The steam tent is like a relaxing sauna. It is a natural follow-up to a massage because it helps the body sweat out all the toxins the massage releases. Clients lay flat and the steam tent is secured around them and sealed with Velcro. The head stays outside the tent and a cool wrap is draped around the neck. Warm steam floats into the tent until it reaches about 120 degrees. Clients can stay in for 20 minutes.

Many people report they notice significant improvement in joint pain and inflammation, congestion, headaches and difficulty sleeping.
